2012 Finals @ The Foundry
Who are we?
The Foundry is a division of Industrial Revelations LLC, jointly operated by Kenneth Pitcher Jr and Adrien Broussard. We are a pair of gaming fanatics dedicated to forging the finest gaming experiences in the industry. We bring with us a truckload of experience in the hobby and business management.
What products do you carry?
We understand that gamers want variety in their lives and enjoy the convenience of getting exactly what they want. In support of those things we will be carrying the full Warhammer 40k, Warhammer Fantasy, and Warmahordes product lines. Additionaly, we support Flames of War, Mantic Games, Infinity, Dust, Classic Battletech, Malifaux, and more. Outside of miniatures games, we also carry a generous selection of board and roleplaying games (Fantasy Flight, Mayfair, Chaosium, White Wolf, Wizards, Catalyst, etc). If card games are what you are after, you will find Magic, Flux, Warhammer Invasion, and more. As a private venture, we have no compunctions about carry third party miniatures, and strive to bring you the best (and most cost effective!) selections from Armorcast, Old Glory, and more. From conversion parts to bulk dudesmans, we have what you need!
What kind of facility do you have?
We have found a cozy 2400 square foot retail space along South Parkway near Gate 2/Martin Road. Since we can't carry every gaming product in existence, we decided make use of the rest of the space for indulging in hobbies! We have five(!) 6x4' shelved tables (with painted terrain) available at all times for play, two 4x4 tables (with painted terrain), two white folding tables with water pots and towels for hobby work, and a seating area with couches and chairs for chilling out. For special events, the store retains a number of folding tables, chairs, and table tops to expand to capacity.
What, events too?
We want to do our part forge a stronger community in Huntsville. We see our portion as providing organizational help and facilities. In support of this we have a calendar jam-packed with regular events for the community. We offer regular classes/seminars on hobby aspects such as painting, sculpting, and terrain bashing. Many classes come with a low or no entry fee and you get to walk home with minis or terrain for participating. Huzzah! Some classes will even be taught by the talented Clay Williams (Malcavicious). For our existing gamer population, we offer regular events in the form of leagues, tournaments, and specialty game events (Apocalypse, King of the Hill, etc). Regularly we will have game nights dedicated to different systems or flavor of games where focus will be given to the spotlight game. This often will include a demo of the game in question.
Free models just for dropping in...?
As an FLGS, we are in a unique position to attract new comers to the hobby and get them up to speed. We keep a demonstration table next to the counter with painted starter sets from four major game lines and all our employees are trained to teach the games in a fun and engaging way to any who care to try. Additionally, we keep a painting station set up with a selection of pre-built and primed models. Each customer is entitled to one free model* if they paint it in store with the guidance of one of our helpful hobby experts!
